Protein Shamrock Shake

This McDonald’s Shamrock Protein Shake Copycat has all the flavor without all the calories! A must try!

Makes 1 serving

Why spend 26 WW Points on a 12 oz. McDonald’s Shamrock Shake when you can make a protein packed one at home for only 5 WW points?

That’s right…McDonald’s Classic Shamrock Shake is 26 points for a 12 ounce, 35 points for 16 ounce, and 48 points for 22 ounce shake! Crazy huh?!

What ingredients do I need to make this Shamrock Shake?

  • Low point vanilla bean ice cream– I like to use Enlightened or Halo Top. You can search HERE for the nearest store that sells Halo Top. You can search HERE for the nearest store that sells Enlightened.  Did you know both of these low point ice cream options are higher in protein than regular ice cream?
  • Unsweetened almond or coconut milk or vanilla premier protein. I recommend using the vanilla premier protein for the added protein!
  • Pure mint extract-not peppermint. Using peppermint extract will make the shake taste more like a candy cane-the mint extract gives it the true authentic Shamrock Shake flavor. You can find mint extract at most grocery stores or HERE on Amazon.
  • Liquid green food coloring or 2 tsp of spinach powder for natural food coloring

What do I use for added protein in this Shamrock Shake?

You can substitute the unsweetened almond milk and protein powder and use vanilla premier protein shake for the same point value.

The Premier Protein shakes can be found at most grocery stores or online HERE.

Lindsay thanks for an absolutely tasty recipe. My whole family loved them. I used Breyer's Carb vanilla icecream because it was available. So much better than McDonald's in terms of flavor and$$. We are planning on a repeat for the first day of spring. Hmm, would you work on other flavors?

I love to get a chocolate shamrock shake at McDonald’s. Do you know what would be a good, healthy chocolate to add to your shamrock recipe to make it a mint-chocolate shake?
