What Sugar Free BBQ sauce do you recommend?

I really love G Hughes sugar free BBQ sauces and Baby Rayes sugar free BBQ sauce.

The G Hughes sugar free comes in Hickory, Honey, Maple Brown, and Original sauce. I find these at my local Walmart store next to the BBQ sauces or online on Amazon in a 3 pack here

What brown sugar sweetener do I use?

The brown sugar substitute I use for this recipe is Lakanto Golden Monkfruit Sweetener. It’s Zero Smart Points, has no after taste and cooks and bakes just like brown sugar would. You can order it online HERE, where you can save 20% off all non sale items with promo code: pound20

How do I make this Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken?

Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt and place seasoned chicken breasts in your crockpot.

In a small mixing bowl combine BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar substitute.

Whisk together until well combined.

Pour sauce over chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Close lid.

Cook on low for 4-6 hours on low.

Remove lid, using 2 forks shred chicken-to allow chicken to absorb the remaining sauce.

Cook on low for another 20 minutes.

Serve on top of a low point hamburger bun, mini Hawaiian rolls, or on a bed of lettuce.

How long do you cook this in the instant pot?

Lindsay Kehl

Tuesday 9th of March 2021

Hi Sarah

If you are making this in the instant pot be sure to add 1/2-1 cup water to the instant pot first and cook on manual for 15 minutes. Let the pressure naturally release for 10 minutes.

Thanks

Hey Lindsay! Excited to try cooking this tonight. Just realized I bought the white sugar monkfruit sweetner, and was unable to find the brown sugar in the store. Would this recipe still work using the white sugar substitute from Lakanto?

Hi Shelby

Yes, it would still work out. I do prefer the Golden for a more caramelized flavor but if you only have the classic you can use that-there's not a huge difference in flavor.

Thank you! Enjoy
