A perfect dessert for celebrating America! With its vibrant red, blue, and golden hues, this triple berry crisp is practically made for patriotic holidays like Independence Day. It’s a healthier alternative to heavier desserts, letting you celebrate without feeling weighed down. Plus, it’s easy to transport, simple to make in large batches, and universally loved—making it a staple for picnics, potlucks, and summer cookouts.
Here’s why it’s one of my go-to summer desserts:
- Naturally Sweetened – No refined sugar needed; made with monkfruit sweetener or sub the sweetener for maple syrup.
- Antioxidant-Rich – Loaded with blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries.
- Whole Grains – A crisp topping made with oats.
- Quick & Easy – Ready in under an hour with minimal prep.
- Perfect for Summer Gatherings – Light, colorful, and crowd-pleasing.
This Healthy Triple Berry Crisp is everything a summer dessert should be: fresh, flavorful, and nourishing. It celebrates the best of the season while keeping things simple and wholesome. Whether you’re enjoying it under fireworks or at a quiet evening on the patio, it’s a recipe you’ll come back to all summer long.

What ingredients do I need to make this Healthy Triple Berry Crisp?
- Old-fashioned rolled oats– not quick oats.
- All-purpose flour– you can sub this for almond flour or gluten-free flour, if desired.
- Granulated white sweetener– I like to use Lakanto Classic monkfruit sweetener*
- Light brown sweetener- I use like to use Lakanto monkfruit brown sweetener*
- Cinnamon– for flavor.
- Salt– for flavor.
- Light butter made with canola oil– for the crumble.
- Frozen berries-raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries
- Cornstarch – to thicken the filling
- Lemon juice– to balance out the acidic from the berries
- Pure vanilla extract– for flavor.
*Note: If you don’t want to use sweetener in the topping you can sub the two 1/4 cup sweeteners with just one 1/4 cup regular maple syrup and 1 Tbsp regular maple syrup in the filling.
