What ingredients do I need to make these Easy BBQ Turkey kielbasa Sausage Bites?

How do I make these Easy BBQ Turkey kielbasa Sausage Bites?

These can be made in the oven or in a slow cooker. We prefer making these in the oven vs. slow cooker because I love giving them a nice broil to get crispy burnt ends.

Here’s the step by step directions for the oven.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

Slice the turkey kielbasa sausages into ½ inch round slices.

In a large bowl combine sugar free BBQ sauce, liquid smoke, garlic powder and onion powder.

Add the sliced sausages to the BBQ sauce mixture. Stir until the sausages are evenly coated with sauce.

Pour the coated sausages.

Pour the sausage mixture into prepared baking dish.

Sprinkle the brown sweetener evenly on top.

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until bubbling and the sauce has caramelized.

Broil for 2-3 minutes on high to get those nice burnt ends.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ( 13 oz.) package kielbasa turkey sausage
  • 1 cup sugar free bbq sauce, we like to use the no sugar added Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce.
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ¼ cup brown sugar sweetener – I use Lakanto brown or golden sweetener. Order HERE.

Oven Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Slice the kielbasa sausages into ½ inch slices.

  4. Add the sliced sausages to the BBQ sauce mixture. Stir until the sausages are evenly coated with sauce.
  5. Pour the sausage mixture into prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the brown sweetener evenly on top.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until bubbling and the sauce has caramelized.
  7. Broil for 2-3 minutes on high to get burnt ends.
  8. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to a week.

Slow Cooker Directions:

  1. Spray bottom of slow cooker with non stick cooking spray
  2. Slice kielbasa sausages into ½ inch slices, and place into prepared slow cooker
  3. In a small bowl combine sugar free BBQ sauce, liquid smoke, garlic powder and onion powder. Stir until well combined.
  4. Pour sauce mixture over kielbasa and stir until the sausages are evenly coated with sauce. Sprinkle the brown sweetener evenly on top.
  5. Cover and cook for 2-3 hours on high or 4-5 hours on low or until heated through. Note: the cook time will vary depending on size and brand of slow cooker. After the turkey kielbasa is cooked, keep the slow cooker on the warm setting until ready to serve.
