What ingredients do I need to make this homemade Italian Dressing?
- Extra virgin olive oil– you could also use avocado oil.
- Red wine vinegar-for a tangy flavor. You could also use white wine vinegar, if desired.
- Lemon juice– freshly squeezed lemon juice works beautifully in this recipe.
- Salt-for flavor.
- Basil-for flavor.
- Oregano-for flavor.
- Onion powder-for flavor.
- Garlic powder-for flavor.
- Dried parsley-for flavor.
- White granulated sweetener– to add a bit of sweetness. I like to use Lakanto Monkfruit Classic Sweetener.
- Black pepper-for flavor.
What other ingredients can I add to this Homemade Italian Dressing?
- 2 Tbsp grated Parmsean
- ½ tsp Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp thyme
Can I use fresh herbs rather than dried herbs?
Yes, you sure can. Keep in mind fresh herbs will not keep fresh as long as dried herbs will. If you plan on using fresh herbs, you will want to use up the dressing the same day you make it.
1 tsp of dried herbs = 1 Tbsp of fresh herbs (diced or finely chopped)
