What ingredients do I need to make these Lightened Up Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treats?

How do I make these Lightened Up Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treats?

Spray an 8 x 8-inch baking pan with non stick cooking spray and line with parchment paper and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl add the crispy rice cereal and set aside. 

In a microwave safe bowl, combine no sugar added chocolate chips and peanut butter and heat in microwave in 30 second increments until melted.

Remove from microwave and whisk until smooth.

Pour the chocolate/peanut butter mixture over the crispy rice cereal

Stir until well combined.

Pour mixture into prepared baking pan and allow them to set for 1-2 hours or until fully cooled.

Use a sharp knife to slice into 16 (1-inch) bars. 

Store these bars in an airtight container in the fridge, for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup or 9 oz. no sugar added milk chocolate chips- I like to use no sugar added Choczero milk chocolate chips or Hershey's no sugar added chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Better N' Peanut Butter or 8 Tablespoons Peanut Butter Powder mixed with 6 Tablespoons of hot water 
  • 3 cups crisp rice cereal-you can use gluten free white rice crispy cereal or gluten free brown rice crispy cereal.
