There’s nothing like a warm bowl of Lighter Southern-style baked beans on a chilly winter day—and my lighter version brings all the rich, smoky flavor without the heaviness.
Made in the slow cooker, these beans simmer low and slow until they’re perfectly tender and infused with a sweet and tangy sauce. With just a touch of brown sweetener, yellow mustard, and a leaner cut of bacon, they’re a cozy, feel-good comfort food you can feel great about enjoying all season long.
Perfect as a side dish or even a hearty main, these slow-cooked beans make winter dinners easy, delicious, and satisfying.
