I made these Easy Lightened Up Maple Bacon Breakfast Rolls for brunch over the weekend and let me tell, these are fabulously delicious!
These maple bacon rolls have been lightened up by using the reduced fat crescent rolls, sugar free maple syrup, precooked bacon, and light butter! If you love the bacon and maple syrup combination, then you are going to LOVE these! Serve these with cheesy scrambled eggs and some fresh fruit for a delicious meal!
What ingredients do I need to make these Easy Lightened Up Maple Bacon Breakfast Rolls?
- Precooked bacon-I like to use Hormel precooked bacon from Sam’s or Costco.
- Reduced fat Pillsbury crescent roll dough– you can find these crescent rolls at most grocery stores in the USA. I get mine at my local Walmart store.
- Light butter-I like to use Land O’ Lakes light butter made with canola oil
- Sugar free maple syrup – I use ChocZero no sugar added maple syrup. You can find this online HERE. Save 10% on your order with discount code: Pounddropper
- Powdered sugar or zero point powdered sweetener– Lakanto powdered sweetener is a zero point powdered sweetener that you can use for the drizzle or if you’d like you can use regular powdered sugar, if you prefer.
Zero Point powdered sweetener vs. regular powdered sugar?
The Lakanto monk-fruit powdered sugar is a fantastic powdered sugar substitute. The Lakanto MonkFruit Sweetener is a zero glycemic, zero calorie, zero points, and all natural sugar substitute. It is by far the best tasting sugar alternative and has zero aftertaste or gritty texture like some of the sugar alternatives have.
Please keep in mind-the point value can vary depending on the brand of sweetener you choose to use. The Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener also has a 1:1 ratio to real sugar. If you use a different sugar substitute you will want to use the equivalent to real sugar that is recommended on back of the sweetener package. You can choose to make these rolls with either regular powdered sugar or with the zero point powdered sweetener.

How do I make these Easy Lightened Up Maple Bacon Breakfast Rolls?
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Microwave bacon as directed on package until very crisp. Remove and place cooked sliced on a paper towel to cool.
Crumble the bacon slices and set aside.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of the slightly melted butter and 1 tablespoon of the maple syrup with a basting brush until combined.
Unroll crescent dough on a piece of parchment paper and press all of the seams together making one large sheet.
Spread butter/syrup mixture evenly over dough with a basting brush, covering to the edges.
Reserve 1 Tbsp of bacon crumbles and then sprinkle the rest all over the butter mixture.
Starting at short end, roll up dough; pinch edge to seal.
Tip: You can wrap the roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate 5 minutes so the dough will be easier to cut.
Place seam side down on cutting board. Using sharp knife, cut roll into 12 even slices. Place slices, cut sides up, on a prepared baking sheet.
Bake 8 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove rolls from cookie sheet to cooling rack with wax paper underneath. Cool 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, in small mixing bowl, mix 2 tablespoon powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon melted butter and 2 Tbsp syrup with wire whisk until smooth.
Drizzle icing over rolls.
Garnish with reserved bacon crumbles.
How to do I store leftovers?
Let them cool completely and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Reheat in microwave or air fryer.
