How to make these Bacon Wrapped Little Smokies?

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

Cut the 12 bacon slices into thirds.

Roll one piece of bacon around one little smokie and let the bacon overlap.

Secure the bacon with a toothpick.

Continue doing this to all of the little smokies.

In a shallow bowl or dish combine brown sugar sweetener, garlic powder and a dash of cayenne pepper, if desired. Mix until well combined.

Dip the little wrapped smokies intro the seasoning mix to cover.

Place each Smokie with a piece of bacon on prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 18-20 minutes or until bacon is crispy.

Remove from oven and allow them to slightly cook for a few minutes before serving.

Serve with them with the toothpicks or remove the toothpicks once they have cooled for a few minutes.

How can I keep these warm while serving?

These can be kept warm by putting them in the crock pot and setting it on the warm setting. It works out perfectly and everyone can enjoy them warm.

Is center cut bacon the same as/similar to Canadian bacon?

Hi Sharon

Thanks for the comment. Center cut bacon is just regular bacon but cut from the center which contains less fat. The package will say center cut bacon.

Hope that helps!

Lind
