What ingredients do I need to make this Easy Caprese Wreath Appetizer?

  • Herb infused mozzarella balls- I love Trader Joe’s marinated mozzarella balls. Costco also sells these.
  • Thin sliced Provolone cheese slices-for star cut outs. You’ll use only half a slice per star.
  • Cherry or grape tomatoes
  • Rosemary springs
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Mixed nuts– salted almonds, pistachios, macadamia nuts, peanuts, walnuts, or pecans. It’s your choice

What star cookie cutter and serving board did you use for this?

You can find the star cookie cutter HERE on Amazon and round serving board HERE.

I have used a 15-20 inch round tray for this-and can be customized to the size board you have and on the size you want the wreath to be.

How do I make this Caprese Wreath Appetizer?

It’s best to serve this appetizer on a round cutting board or round serving dish.

Create a layer of fresh rosemary herbs the wreath, then a layer of basil leaves for the mozzarella balls to sit on.

Next, place mozzarella balls about 2 inches apart going around the wreath.

Add a grape tomato in between the mozzarella balls. If desired, add toothpicks to the mozzarella balls and tomatoes.

Using a small star cookie cutter, cut out 6-8 stars from the thinly sliced provolone cheese.

Lay the sliced stars on top of the mozzarella and grape tomatoes.

Add clusters of mixed nuts throughout the wreath.

Can I make this ahead of time?

Yes, it sure can. I recommend prepping the mozzarella and grape tomatoes. You can add toothpicks ahead and refrigerate if needed.

Arrange the Caprese wreath just before serving.

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz. herb infused mozzarella balls
