Makes 6 mummy hot dogs
This is a fun holiday tradition with my kids that I started years ago. It’s perfect for Halloween parties, or just for a snack at home.
It only takes about 20 minutes to make, and requires only three ingredients! It’s also kid-friendly and a lightened-up Halloween recipe, so it’s great if you’re trying to keep things healthy while still celebrating!
What ingredients do I need to make these Easy Lightened Up Mummy Hot Dogs?
- Reduced fat crescent roll dough-I like to use Pillsbury reduced fat crescent rolls. You’ll only use 6 out of the 8 crescent dough triangles. If you wanted you can make 4 additional hot dog mummies or make two crescent rolls out of the leftover dough.
- 6 low point hot dogs, patted dry– I like to use 97% Hebrew National Franks- they are only 45 calories and 1 PersonalPoint per hot dog. It’s important to pat the hot dogs dry so that the dough sticks to each hot dog.
- Yellow mustard or no sugar added ketchup– for dipping and for the eyes
How do I make these Easy Lightened Up Mummy Hot Dogs?
Unroll dough into 8 triangles. Cut 6 triangles into 3-4 thin strips.
Wrap 3 strips of dough around each hot dog, stretching dough slightly so they look like bandages.
Leave a small space exposed at the top for the face. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Place crescent dogs on prepared baking sheet; laying the mummy’s about 2 inches apart.
Cook 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before adding “eyes” with mustard or ketchup using a toothpick to dot the eyes.
Serve with mustard and/or ketchup for dipping.
Enjoy!
