How do I make these Easy Pickled Onions?

In a small saucepan, combine the vinegar, water, salt and sweetener.

Cook over medium-high heat until the mixture reaches a simmer. Remove from heat.

Place sliced onions into a 12 oz. mason jar.

Pour the hot vinegar mixture over the onions, screw on the lid, and shake the onions briefly until they are evenly coated with the vinegar mixture.

Let the onions marinate in the jar for at least an hour.

Store leftovers in a sealed mason jar in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks. These taste even better 1-2 days after they have marinated.
