Makes 35 balls

Everybody has had sausage balls, right? Perhaps at a family party or a church function? They are a classic game day appetizer that I knew I needed to lighten up and recreate using my favorite protein packed ingredients including: Kodiak pancake mix, Fairlife milk and Jennie O’ Turkey Sausage! Each sausage ball has 4 grams of PROTEIN, which means these will keep you full for hours!

That’s right! This sausage ball recipe is a protein packed version of the classic sausage balls that are ever so popular! They are simple to make using just 4 ingredients: turkey sausage, shredded cheese, protein packed Fairlife milk and Kodiak Pancake Mix or Bisquick mix. These make for a savory breakfast, snack, or game day appetizer!

What ingredients do I need to make these Protein Packed Sausage Balls?

  • Turkey Sausage– I like to use Jennie O’ Italian Turkey Sausage.
  • Reduced fat cheddar cheese-shredded.
  • Milk of your choice-I use Fairlife skim milk. This skim milk adds an additional 7 grams of protein for 1/2 cup-which gives these sausage balls added protein!
  • Kodiak pancake mix or Bisquick– I like to use Kodiak Buttermilk Pancake mix for the added protein. Feel free to use gluten-free pancake mix, for a gluten-free option.

What if I do not have Kodiak Pancake Mix?

No problem! Just use Bisquick. You can also pick up the Kodiak Buttermilk Pancake Mix HERE on Amazon if you wanted to give it a try!
