Slow Cooker Skinny Chocolate Lava Cake

This Slow Cooker Skinny Chocolate Lava Cake is every chocolate lovers dream-made with three chocolate layers! A decadent dessert everyone will love-perfect for potlucks, weekend brunch, or any family gathering!

Makes 16 ( 1/3 cup) servings

What makes this Chocolate Lave Cake Skinny?

To make this Lava Cake Skinny-you will use a box of Pillbsbury sugar free devil’s food cake mix, sugar free chocolate fudge Jell-O pudding mix, sugar free chocolate chips, and premier protein shake in place of the skim milk to keep the points low. I get the Pillsbury sugar free devil’s food cake mix and sugar free chocolate fudge Jell-O at my local Walmart or Kroger store. You can also find these online HERE on Amazon.

How do I make the Chocolate Pudding Layer?

To make the pudding layer you will use 1 ( 1 oz.) package of the sugar free chocolate fudge pudding mix combined with either skim milk (which would increase the point value per serving by 1 point) or  1 ( 11 oz.) carton premier protein shake. The premier protein shake is lower in points than skim milk and has 30 grams of protein-which makes this dessert low in points and helps fill you up.

I do not recommend using unsweetened almond milk-the pudding will not set with unsweetened almond or cashew milk.

What kind of no sugar chocolate chips can I use?

I LOVE  Chocozero no sugar added milk chocolate chips or Lakanto no sugar added chocolate chips. They two are my favorite when it comes to no sugar added chocolate chips. These are super delicious and have NO bitter aftertaste! If you prefer dark chocolate you can substitute the milk chocolate for Lily’s Dark Chocolate Chips, Stevia Sweetened, with no added sugar.  You can find those HERE on Amazon.

That should be a quarter cup of water and not 1 1/4 cup of water correct?… I’m looking back at it now since my batter seems really thin oh well let’s give it three hours ,it’ll still be good I’m sure ☺️

Hi Beth,

I use 1 1/4 (1.25) cup water which is the same amount that is called for on back of the cake box-and replace the 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce for the oil.

Thank you!
