Zero Point Crockpot Chili

 

There’s not much better than a big pot of homemade chili! This Zero Point Chili recipe requires simple ingredients and it’s easy to make for any night of the week!

Servings: Makes 6 cups

GREEN: 8 Smart Points per cup

PURPLE: Zero SmartPoints per cup

 

What ingredients are used for this zero point chili?

I use 4 kinds of beans, a can of diced tomatoes and 2 (8 oz) cans of tomato sauce for this recipe- I honestly love the combination of the variety of beans that are in this chili recipe-however you can omit any of the ones you may not prefer and add another can of your preferred bean in its place.

 

 

Garbanzo Beans

Pinto Beans

 

             

Black Beans

Diced Tomatoes

 

2 cans of Tomato Sauce

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound 99% lean ground turkey 
  • 1  can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1  can (15 oz.) pinto beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz.) garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can ( 14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 Tbsp chili seasoning powder
  • 1/2 tsp of cumin

 

Directions:

  1. Spray a skillet with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Add ground turkey, onion and garlic powder and cook for about 7-10 minutes or until the meat is completely browned.
  3. Drain and transfer the cooked ground turkey to the bottom of a slow cooker.
  4. Add the remaining ingredients, and stir to combine.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours.
