You know that blue cheese dressing you get at the salad bar? The one you eat with a spoon and then make up excuses to go back for more?

Well, now you can make it at home. And we’re not talking about a sad, store-bought version of your favorite restaurant dressing—we’re talking real, creamy, tangy, zesty blue cheese dressing made with only the best ingredients.

This recipe is lightened up using simple ingredients and is perfect for when you need a quick fix for your cravings. It’s light and healthy-without sacrificing the taste and flavor. You can use this as a dressing, dip, or spread on your sandwich or wrap!

What ingredients do I need to make this Easy Skinny Blue Cheese Dressing or Dip?

  • Light mayo– I like to use Light Best Foods Mayo or Light Kraft Mayo.
  • Non fat plain Greek yogurt – To lighten up this recipe, I replace a good amount of light mayo with non fat plain yogurt or Greek yogurt.
  • Reduced fat Blue cheese crumbles– you can use a container of crumbled blue cheese from the deli section of your grocery store. Or, slice a piece off a block of blue cheese and crumble it up.
  • Chives fresh and chopped. It gives the dressing a nice little onion flavor.
  • White wine vinegar– for flavor.
  • Garlic– Freshly minced garlic cloves are better than the jarred variety in salad dressing or any recipe that isn’t cooked.
  • Lemon juice – The juice from half a lemon adds a zippy burst of fresh flavor.
  • Salt and pepper – Add as much as you’d like, to taste.
  • Unsweetened almond milk- you could also use unsweetened coconut milk or skim milk to thin out the consistency.

What can I use with this dressing or dip for?

  • Dressing –For a blue cheese salad dressing, thin it to a dressing consistency adding more unsweetened almond milk. Use as a dressing for your favorite salad or try it on this delicious Skinny Cobb Salad or this Ultimate BLT Salad.
  • Dip –If you want to use this recipe as a blue cheese dip or topping, add less unsweetened milk for a thicker consistency. Dunk these Buffalo Chicken Meatballs, chicken nuggets, pizza, or your favorite veggies into it.
  • Spread– Spread a little on your wrap or sandwich to take your wrap to sandwich to a whole new level.
