Are you craving something warm and delicious on cold day?  This Skinny Mint Chocolate Chip Hot Cocoa will cure that craving!

 

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz unsweetened almond milk or unsweetened cashew milk
  • 1 Tbsp  Devotion Nutrition Angel Food Cake Protein Powder or 1 Tbsp of any brand of protein powder
  • 1 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 Devotion Nutrition Mint Chocolate Chip Flex Flavor packet or a splash of peppermint extract ( I use Devotion Nutrition Mint Chocolate Chip Flex Flavor)

I use Devotion Nutrition Angel Food Cake Protein Powder as the base this recipe. The Angel Food Cake Protein Powder is 1 Freestyle smart point per scoop.

I like my hot chocolate not so rich- therefore I use a vanilla base protein powder ( Angel Food Cake)  vs. a chocolate base ( Brownie Batter) for this recipe-and then add unsweetened cocoa powder so that I can control the chocolate flavor.

However, you can use the Brownie Batter protein powder if you prefer ( The point value would be the same since you are only using 1 Tbsp)

I absolutely love and recommend the mint chocolate chip flex flavor for this hot chocolate. The flex flavor is a stevia sweetened packet that adds a bit of sweetness without the calories! It’s not as potent as the peppermint extract and adds just the right amount of flavor!

 

 

Directions:

  1. In a microwavable cup, heat unsweetened almond milk in the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. Remove from microwave.
  2. Stir in protein powder and cocoa powder. Whisk with a fork until both ingredients have been well combined.
  3. Pour in mint extract or mint chocolate chip flex flavor. Stir and reheat in microwave for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Stir and Enjoy!

Servings: Makes 1 serving /2 Freestyle Smart Points
