What ingredients do I need to make these Easy Air Fryer French Toast Sticks?
- Low point bread-cut into 4 sticks per slice. I like to use the Extraordinary Bites 2 Net Carb Texas Toast. I get this brand of bread at my local Walmart store. This particular bread is a low point Texas toast which is nice and thick. It’s only 60 calories, 2 net carbs per slice, and 1 PersonalPoint per slice. You can use a gluten-free bread, for a gluten-free option.
- Large eggs-you could use egg beaters, if desired.
- Fat free half and half or skim or unsweetened almond milk-I love using fat free half and half since its thicker and makes the French toast sticks a nice custard like coating.
- Ground cinnamon
- Vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
How do I make these Easy Air Fryer French Toast Sticks?
These french toast sticks can be cooked in the air fryer or a griddle or skillet.
Here are the step by step directions for using the air fryer:
Slice bread into 4 sticks. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, add eggs, unsweetened almond milk or fat free half and half, vanilla, and cinnamon; whisk until well combined. Set aside.
Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick oil spray so the bread doesn’t stick to the basket.
Dip the sticks into the egg mixture being sure to flip and coat both sides.
Lift out of the mixture and allow to drip for a few seconds, then place into the air fryer basket.
Set the air fryer to 400 degrees and 4 minutes. After 4 minutes, open the air fryer basket and carefully flip the french toast sticks.
Close the air fryer and cook 3-4 more minutes at 400 degrees.
Remove the french toast sticks when finished and then cook remaining air fryer french toast sticks, if needed.
Serve your French toast sticks with your favorite toppings!
Including sugar free syrup, if desired.
I like to use ChocZero sugar free caramel syrup-it’s thick and delicious!
