There are many recipes for homemade Chex Mix also known as Chex Party Mix. Though contents vary, the mixes generally include an assortment of Chex cereals, chips, hard breadsticks, pretzels, nuts, or bagel bites.

This Lightened Up Savory Chex Mix has been lightened up by using less light butter, Worcestershire sauce, seasonings, a variety of cereals and mini pretzels!

What ingredients do I need to make this Lightened Up Savory Chex Party Mix?

  • Corn Chex Cereal
  • Rice Chex Cereal
  • Wheat Chex
  • Cheerios or Kix Cereal
  • Mini pretzels
  • Light butter- melted and warm
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Seasoned salt– I use Lawry’s
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder 

What other ingredients can I add to this Lightened Up Savory Chex Mix?

  • Small crackers (such as: Cheez-Its, Goldfish, or Oyster crackers)
  • Rye chips or bagel chips
  • Nuts

How do I make this Lightened Up Savory Chex Mix?

Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

Pour the cereals, pretzels, Kix or cheerios into a large bowl.

In a medium bowl, melt the butter and stir in the Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, and garlic powder.

Drizzle the butter mixture evenly over the cereal mixture, toss for 1-2 minutes to make sure everything is evenly coated.

Pour mixture onto a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper.

Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

Remove from oven and allow it to cool for 5 minutes.

Serve immediately and store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

  • 8 oz. mini pretzels
  • 6 Tbsp light butter, melted and warm. I use Land O' Lakes light butter or I Can't Believe It's Not Butter 
  • 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
