Theses “Big Mac Sloppy Joes” will surely make your mouth water. Once you master this recipe, you’ll definitely want to make it again and again. Just follow along the simple steps below!

What ingredients do I need to make these Big Mac Sloppy Joes?

  • 96% lean ground beef or lean ground turkey – I use Laura’s Lean 96% ground beef
  • Kosher salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Yellow or white onion, finely chopped
  • Hamburger pickle chips-chopped
  • Homemade Skinny Big Mac Sauce or low point thousand island dressing-click HERE for the Big Mac Sauce recipe
  • Fat free cheddar cheese or Velveeta shreds – I like to use Velvetta Shreds

What other ingredients do I need to add to make Big Mac Sloppy Joes?

  • Low point sesame seed hamburger buns – I like use Great Value hamburger buns from Walmart or Franz hamburger buns ( hamburger buns are NOT included in the point value)
  • Iceberg lettuce-shredded
  • Velveeta or American cheese
  • Hamburger dil pickles

What else could I make using this Big Mac Sloppy Joe Mixture?

You could also use sloppy joe mixture in a low point tortilla, as a dip for chips, on top of toast, or enjoy as is.

What sauce do I use for these Big Mac Sloppy Joes?

I recommend using and making my Skinny Big Mac Sauce-it tastes just like McDonald’s Big Mac Sauce but with much lower points. If you wanted you could use Thousand Island dressing as a substitute, but be warned-it will have a slightly different taste.

Click HERE for the Skinny Big Mac Sauce recipe.

Place sauce in the fridge for at least 30 minutes while making the sloppy joe mixture.

What are the key steps in making these skinny joe’s so tasty delicious?

  1. Prepare the Skinny Big Mac Sauce first! This allows the flavors to come together.
  2. Toast the buns-toasting the buns really helps with the texture and helps to not make the buns soggy with the meat mixture.
  3. Have napkins ready! These Big Mac Sloppy Joes can get a bit messy- be sure to have napkins with you or eat with a fork for less mess!

How do I make these Big Mac Sloppy Joes?

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lay the hamburger buns in a single layer on a baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake until the buns are lightly toasted, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from oven. Set aside. I recommend only heating the amount of buns you’re planning on serving immediately.

Meanwhile, spray a large skillet with non stick cooking spray. Cook ground beef over medium-high heat. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Crumble beef as it cooks.

Once the ground beef is fully cooked drain the grease from the pan and reduce the heat to medium.

Add the diced pickles, diced onions,  Velveeta shreds, and 1/2 cup Skinny Big Mac sauce into the ground beef mixture in the skillet ( you’ll have leftovers of the sauce that can be used for serving.)

Cook and stir for a minute or until ingredients are heated and cheese has melted. Remove from heat.

Assemble Sloppy Joes by adding a tablespoon of Skinny Big Mac Sauce to the bottom of bun, if desired.

Top with shredded lettuce and a slice of velveeta cheese over the lettuce.

Spoon 1/2 cup Big Mac Sloppy Joe mixture on top.

Add a few pickles and/or additional sauce if desired.

Then add the top bun to finish things off.
