Smash Big Mac Tacos

These Smash Big Mac Tacos have gone viral across all Social Media platforms and are a combination of two American favorite meals… a Big Mac and a crispy taco!

If you have been on TikTok, Facebook, or Instagram lately, you may have seen these Smash Burger Tacos throughout your feed!  If you haven’t made them yet…tell me, what are you waiting for? This Smash Big Mac Taco recipe is a healthier version using lean ground beef and low carb tortillas- these Smash Big Mac Tacos taste just as good as any traditional smash taco recipes out there!

They are so easy and fun to make! The concept for these smash tacos are smashing and cooking a thin layer of lean ground beef onto a low carb small flour or corn tortilla, then melting cheese on top of the golden crispy beef, and garnishing with crispy iceberg lettuce, white onions, along with my homemade Skinny Big Mac Sauce! Seriously, so GOOD!

What ingredients do I need to make these Viral Smash Big Mac Taco?

  • Lean ground beef- I like to use 96% lean ground beef. You could also use ground turkey or chicken, if desired.
  • Garlic powder 
  • Onion powder
  • Salt & pepper-to taste
  • Small low carb white tortilla or corn tortillas
  • Reduced fat American cheese-I like to use Velveeta cheese slices
  • Burger toppings: white onions, shredded lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, or Skinny Big Mac Sauce.

How do I make these Viral Smash Big Mac Tacos?

Start by making my Skinny Big Mac Sauce. This really Big Mac sauce takes the tacos to the next level…

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Using a small bowl or a food processor (I recommend using a food processor for a smoother texture) whisk or blend the light mayonnaise, white vinegar, fat plain or Greek yogurt, no added sugar ketchup, salt, water, sweet pickle relish, minced white onion, and sugar, until your desired consistency.
  2. Pour into a dressing container or an airtight container. 
  3. Put dressing in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.

This sauce is 1 WW Point® for ( 2 Tbsp)

Divide beef into eight 2 ounces portions.

Place two ounces of beef onto each of the tortillas. Press down to flatten the beef into the shape and size of the tortilla.

Sprinkle the beef with the garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.

Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium high heat. Spray the skillet with nonstick cooking spray.

Place one to three tortillas (will depend on the size tortilla and skillet pan used) beef side down into prepared skillet. 

Let them cook for 2-3 minutes and then flip. Cook the other side for 3-4 minutes or until the beef is crispy and cooked through. 

Add a slice of cheese on top of the beef. 

Let the cheese melt. Remove from heat and repeat until all the smash tacos are cooked. 

Top with your favorite toppings and burger sauces. Enjoy!

Store leftovers in fridge for 3 days but these taste best made fresh! Reheat on skillet if desired.

Beef side up first? Photos show beef side down, then flip. So how do we add cheese to the beef if it’s flipped to beef side down? Confused and just don’t want to burn a tortilla.
